God, Games, and Geekery.
I'm a late-40-something, autistic, divorced, and widowed data and theme park junkie residing in Plant City, Florida, the "Winter Strawberry Capital of the World". It's a small agricultural town of about 35,000 responsible for nearly all of the winter strawberries grown and sold in the United States.
I was born and raised in Orange County, California, before relocating to Lakeland, Florida, in 2000. After getting dumped by my first wife, I relocated first to Plant City (2008–2013), where I married by jr. high crush who joined me from California, then to Tampa (2013–2019), where my second wife died suddenly in 2016. In the last few months of 2019 I sold or gave away just about everything I owned and moved back to Plant City to start over.
Being that I do not have any kids of my own—my first wife and I adopted a son but I consider myself, for all intents and purposes, permanently excluded from his life since the divorce when he was three—and considering that I am the youngest and last in my line, I don't have anybody to bury me or pass anything on to. Therefore, I chose to share my life and its continuing story openly via the Internet so that there is something to pass on to the next generation.
I'm a theme park junkie, with annual passes (currently) to Walt Disney World® and the SeaWorld family of parks and resorts in central Florida (Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Orlando), because it's the only way I get myself out of the apartment. I'm also a data junkie, working full-time as an associate reporting analyst and following a quantified self lifestyle.
I was diagnosed in 2005 with Asperger Syndrome, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Arrested Development Disorder; for the first two I was the constant target of bullying from the second grade all the way through graduation from high school, causing the third. I guess you could say I'm a kid trapped in the body of an old person. I live a solitary life by choice, as lonely as it may be.
From 1986 until leaving California in 2000, I volunteered as a musician and arranger in various church worship settings. From time to time I still publish my own music under the pen name "In My Silence". Most of my older material is available for free through Soundcloud.
After my wife passed away in 2016, I started playing video games to pass the time and ease the boredom and loneliess, and began livestreaming my glorious lack of skills on Twitch, Mixer, YouTube, and most recently, Facebook Gaming.
In the past I have volunteered public speaking engagements at BarCamps and other events with my story and encouraging others with similar conditions to share their stories online through social media.
